The single player demo is out, and the mulit-player patch is expected to be released any day now. Those who've played the single player demo are reporting back that they like it, but the general consensus among those who've played the final version is the demo's simply do not do the full version justice. Word is Activision has another "Game of Year" ready to go and frankly we can't wait for it to be released.
Given the excitement associated with the anticipated release the OGL is moving ahead without hesitation to open CoD2 ladders so that teams can get signed up right away. To date we're able to confirm four multi-player gametypes. Team Death Match (TDM), Headquarters (HQ), Search & Destroy (SD), and Capture the Flag (CTF). We've also heard of as many as six new gametypes, but Activision and Infinity Ward aren't talking, and the predominant forums don't have any verifiable information on any new gametypes.
We will of course update the ladders as any new gametype information becomes available to us, in the meantime we will establish ladders for the known gametypes so that teams can get on board and be ready for action once the game is released.
